Clifton Beach Queensland

Clifton Beach is a tropical beachside township wedged between the World Heritage listed rainforest and the Oceans of the Great Barrier Reef. Located 22km north of Cairns, Clifton Beach is part of the Cairns Northern Beaches area and only a 25 min drive from the airport.

A short stroll north will take holiday makers to Palm Cove, and a walk to the south will get you to Kewarra Beach. This gives you a total beach area of about 6 km and the opportunity for endless walks to let the beauty of the place sink in. Long white sandy beaches so wonderfully set among green palm trees make a perfect setting for the dip in the ocean.

There is a great choice of holiday accommodation from holiday apartments, holiday houses and Bed & Breakfasts close to various tourist attractions. Families might like to visit the local zoo to watch the Australian Wildlife and feed the Kangaroos. Golfers can enjoy the tropical setting while having a game of Golf at one of Australias Top 50 golf courses, the world class resort golf course at Paradise Palms where even Greg Norman had has played. Not far lays Palm Cove with plenty of its own white beaches, calm blue waters boutiques, galleries and shopping.

Port Douglas lays 42 km north of Cairns and is basically the doorstep to the tropical Rainforest. Why not combine your stay in Clifton Beach with Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas or a trip to the world heritage listed Cape Tripulation and Daintree Rainforest. With tropical and crystal clear swimming holes, white-water rafting and wildlife watching, it is definitely a must and is not to be missed.

With many tour operators available in the Far North you wont have any worries visiting some of the most scenic sites in the North Queensland.

The Great Barrier Reef provides home to thousands of exotic tropical fish and coral and when you are here you simply cant miss a cruise to one of the natural wonders of the World.

Other options to fill your day are trips to Kuranda with the scenic Kuranda Train or the award winning Skyrail. The Atherton Tablelands offer a wealth of volcanic crater lakes, rolling green hills, magnificent waterfalls, boat cruises, the huge Cathedral and Curtain Fig tress, hot-air ballooning and many more.
